Who Offers Mobile Text Messaging And How Can You Get Involved?

Up until recently there were very few ways of “getting into mobile” in terms of using mobile text messaging as a medium for businesses to increase their bottom line. For a start there simply weren’t many companies offering mobile text messaging, and these were really only US based meaning it was not a global opportunity. Of those that did offer a service, the costs incurred in using them were so prohibitively expensive that only large Fortune 500 type companies could really become involved. Anyone smaller simply couldn’t afford it.

Now there are companies in a number of non-US countries that offer mobile text message marketing as well as greater competion in the US itself as more and more companies appear. This has of course meant that prices for using a text messaging companies services have dropped dramatically recently, meaning the little guy who runs a sandwich shop across the street can now afford to take advantage of this fantastic new marketing tool the same as the big dogs.

If you type in say “Mobile Text Marketing” with or without quotes into a google search you will get a plethora of different companies websites returned in the results all offering a range of services that are in some way connected with text message marketing. In its most basic form, each company allows you to sign up to one of their text messaging plans that vary in cost depending on the size of your business and the number of texts you will require sending to your customers each month. Make sure that the company you are interested in using supports bulk SMS messaging in your country.

Once you have established that they do, you can sign up for as little as 100 texts per month right up to 100k+ and the price per text can be as low as a few cents. Once you have signed up you can begin sending out broadcast texts to customers whose cell phone numbers you have stored in a database. This would initially be a message thanking them for joining your text “club” and allowing you to contact them.

If you don’t have a database of past customers to contact you will need to tell your existing ones that you now offer a text messaging service. This means advertising it in as many different ways as possible. But you must give people a reason toopt in to your service, so give away or offer something of value such as a coupon, discount or some kind of incentive that shows them how joining will make life easier for them.

Most companies make the process of getting involved an easy one. You can learn about how to sign up with a text messaging service by going here.
