Sole E25 Elliptical

Any Home Gym piece of equipment such as an Elliptical trainer priced under the $2500 mark usually turns out tobe a huge and expensive disappointment. Mostly reasonably priced trainers are clunky and poorly constructed and really not worth the saving you make for the sacrifice on quality. The phrase “you get what you pay for” springs to mind.
However, there is the exception to every rule and where budget trainers are concerned The Sole e25 Elliptical trainer is that exception.

Here is how the manufacturers describe it:-

Reviewed as really the best elliptical you can buy under $1000, the Sole e25 Elliptical is a pretty and highly functional feature-packed entry level machine. It has a user-friendly electronic console with a bright blue back-lit LCD display. You can list to music while you work out with an MP3 connection and built-in speakers. It also comes with a water bottle holder and a cooling fan.

The e25 is a front drive elliptical with oversize pedals that run on railings thus providing a natural, fluid action from the whisper-quiet drive system. This system incorporates a 26lb. flywheel and high gear ratio, not usually found on comparable models. This makes it one of the smoothest elliptical trainers in its price range.

For maximum diversity in your work out the trainer has a power incline feature offering a total of 16 differing levels of resistance. This is achieved by pressing a button to incline the ramp to the desired angle and is fully adjustable from a level position to an angle of 30 degrees. This means you can individually target all the major lower body muscle groups.

The handlebars have built-in pulse sensors for monitoring heart rate and an optional chest strap can be used for accurate heart rate monitoring.

The over-sized foot pedals are uniquely designed for maximum comfort with a 2 degree inward slope which reduce ankle and knee stress that is common in other elliptical machines. The foot beds themselves articulate for optimal user comfort and performance, running on real wheels that ride on heavy duty rails-a feature usually only found on more expensive models.

As with any product, different people will have a differing opinions on it depending on their experience with it. Some will say its great, some its ok and some won’t like it. Apart from the features and benefits described above its useful to weigh up the pros and cons of any product.

Here is our assessment of the Sole e25 Elliptical trainer:-

Pros:

It has a useful selection of 10 different workout programs.
The 20-inch stride length means that the e25 is appropriate for taller users. This is rarely more than 15-18  inches on machines found under  $2000.
The e25 has an “eddy current” braking system usually only ever incorporated into higher end models.
It durability and stability and wide range of features can really only be bettered by the higher end models in Sole’s own range of Ellipticals.
Backed by Sole’s 1-year labor and 3-year parts coverage.

Cons:

May not be suitable for users with very rigorous workout regimes.
Some find that assembly can be a challenge.
Any negatives are mostly  a consequence of comparing it to Sole’s other higher priced machines eg. its display size and functionality.

All things considered the Sole e25 Elliptical is the ideal entry level trainer. There is no more superior product on the market for this price. When you exercise with this machine you will get a complete and safe workout every time you use it. From the comfort of your own home you will be able to get into better shape without any of the common knee injury worries associated with cycling or running.Once you have the Sole e25 Elliptical trainer assembled and ready to go it will be worth every cent.
